Chankast is among the most advanced emulators out there. It is specifically developed around Sega Dreamcast and suitable for x86 platforms. The emulator has faced a few updates overtime, with the last one occurring in 2005. It supports full screen gaming, LCD CMU and VMU support and command line support. Classic commercial games can now be played at a relatively good speed on 2GHz computers. Compared to other similar emulators, Chankast is faster and features no HLE parts.
The emulator was still in an alpha version when updates ceased coming. However, users can still get it over the Internet these days. The download is free and there are no major requirements. It is also compatible with Windows 2000 – ASPI driver, but newer operating systems may not be able to handle it. It is worth noting that Chankast only supports self bootable backups. Non self bootable and original discs will not work.
