MAME4Droid

MAME4Droid has a self-explanatory name. The emulator is based on the world renowned MAME program, only it is available for Android devices – ideal for mobile devices. Just like the original MAME, it supports more than 8,000 ROMs and successfully preserves vintage games. It is worth noting that the application brings in the emulator only. It is available for free, but you will have to find the ROMs yourself – such materials are copyrighted and cannot be distributed for free.

While created for dual core Android devices, the emulator still requires some work for particular games. For example, modern arcade games may not be perfectly optimized and may not always run at full speed. The Mortal Kombat series will require a dual core device of at least 1.5GHz. All in all, MAME4Droid provides automatic rotating features, HW key remapping, touch controller settings, image smoothing, overlay filters, analog and digital touch and so on.
