NeoRAGEx

NeoRAGEx represents the father of all Neo Geo emulators out there. In a world dying to play old school games like Neo Turf Masters, Shock Troopers, Metal Slug 3 or Waku Waku 7, NeoRAGEx came as an excellent alternative for those who wanted a computer based alternative to Neo Geo. The emulator works on Windows operating systems only and can emulate any Neo Geo application. All applications are replicated in small details, with great accuracy. There are not too many improvements from the original games either.

Overtime, more similar emulators kicked in – some of them based on NeoRAGEx. However, none of them has managed to reach its high level of optimization. After all, it only emulates Neo Geo and can easily run on machines with low resources. All in all, despite its popularity, the project has been abandoned – it can still be found for free over the Internet.
