Running on Microsoft Windows systems, Oswan is one of the most appreciated WonderSwan Color emulators out there. There are not too many emulators for this system though, yet Oswan is not fully original. Developed by David Raingeard, the emulator is based on a different – and more popular – alternative known as Cygne. However, the primary purpose of the emulator was to fix some of the issues associated with Cygne and improve the overall gaming experience.
Compared to other WonderSwan Color emulators, Oswan comes with extra support for the audio, as well as greater speeds. Games are faster and smoother, so the experience is more intense. At the same time, Oswan also brings in the possibility to apply more filters for videos, not to mention different color schemes for traditional WonderSwan Color games. Two different versions were released for free. The latest one came out in 2010 – the project was abandoned soon after.
