PicoDrive is a solid emulator covering Pico, 32X, Sega or Mega CD, Genesis or Mega Drive, Game Gear and the Sega Master System. It targets more platforms and it does a pretty good job in terms of speed and small details, hence its popularity. The last version came out in 2014, so the project has most likely been abandoned. During its first stages, PicoDrive was initially aimed at the UIQ2 only – it moves on to other consoles later on.
PicoDrive is designed to boost the speed. Since many games back then were quite slow, it sacrifices accuracy a little, but it will enhance one's experience. It can emulate most games without any major bugs, yet the SMS emulation can pose some issues. Game Gear emulation is not fully managed though, so gamers may experience issues. The emulator became popular among those with weak devices that could not run anything else.
