Project Tempest was created to emulate Atari Jaguar hardware. It emulates a series of commercial games, with the most popular ones including Alien vs Predator, Tempest 2000, Iron Soldier and Wolfenstein 3D. The emulator was widely welcomed all over the world. Other similar emulators could only handle small freeware games, yet Project Tempest took it to another level. The emulator is only compatible with Windows 9X, 2000 and XP. It is worth noting that it is not perfect and some of the games will run with no sound at all – some others will work at the highest standards.
Project Tempest is quite accurate and replicates old fashioned games without altering them. While widely appreciated, it came with some harsh requirements for those times. It needs a processor with 2GHz or more to run commercial games with great audio. Mac OS X and Linux conversions were never planned, so compatibility is limited. The program is available for free.
