SDL Mame is compiled for PowerPC. The emulator is designed and run by the Mame team, meaning there are some similarities between different emulators in this series. The Wii/Linux distribution is an arcade emulator that runs with accuracy in mind. The installation is fairly simple and involves working with a few folders and files on a classic SD card. In order to play a game, you must use the respective SD card. Keep in mind that there are no ROM images included in the packages. Such images are copyrighted, meaning you will need to get them yourself. Other than that, SDL Mame is available for free.
SDL Mame has a few small flaws compared to other emulators. For example, its loading times are higher than average. It plays at a decent speed – about 90% of the original speed, meaning it might feel slower than average. Also, there is no support for a keyboard or Wii joystick.
