Connectix VGS XP used to be one of the best rated PSX emulators for Windows during the mid 2000s. The emulator benefited from an impressive release and lots of people joined the venture and started using it. However, given its success overnight, Sony went after the company behind the emulator and sued it. While the developer won the lawsuit started by Sony, the emulator went downhill from that moment. The last official update occurred in 2006 – these days, there are no other updates being worked on.
You can easily find Connectix VGS XP for free over the Internet – small to download, easy to install and use. It runs extremely well on many machines, even on older machines with basic configurations. The smooth operation also brought in resolutions higher than the original and this was one of the main reasons behind its popularity. Enthusiasts still use it – version 1.41 is the latest one.
